Diving Similan Islands from Phuket

Popular Dive Sites

Phuket and the Similan Islands are known for their beautiful and diverse diving, with a variety of dive sites suitable for divers of all levels.

King Cruiser Wreck: This is a popular wreck dive site located off the coast of Phuket. The 85-meter long ferry was sunk in 1997 and now sits in 30 meters of water. It is home to a variety of marine life, including schools of fish, eels, and octopus.

Shark Point: Located near Phuket, Shark Point is known for its sightings of leopard sharks, which are often seen resting on the sandy bottom. The site also features beautiful coral reefs, schools of fish and anemones.

Anemone Reef: This is a beautiful reef dive site located off the coast of Phuket. It is known for its large fields of anemones and the colorful clownfish that live among them.

Richelieu Rock: Located in the Surin Islands, Richelieu Rock is considered one of the best dive sites in the region. The site is known for its sightings of whale sharks, manta rays and other pelagic species.

Elephant Head Rock: This dive site is located in the Similan Islands and is known for its unique rock formations that resemble an elephant’s head. The site is home to a variety of marine life, including schools of fish, turtles, and reef sharks.

West of Eden: This dive site is located in the Similan Islands and is known for its beautiful coral gardens and diverse marine life. It’s a great spot for diving with big schools of fish, and sometimes you can see big pelagics such as whale shark or manta rays.

Christmas Point: This dive site is located in the Similan Islands, known for its soft corals and the abundance of marine life. Schools of fish, turtles, and reef sharks are commonly seen at this site.

These are just a few examples of the many great dive sites around Phuket and the Similan Islands. With the right conditions and a bit of luck, you can see a wide range of marine life such as Whale sharks, Manta rays, and even occasional sightings of Hammerhead sharks.
